Capping off the Canadian Music Week festivities were this year’s SiriusXM Indie Awards, held for the final time at Kool Haus. One of our favourite nights of the festival, the evening boasts the presentation of aforementioned awards along with performances by a collection of the country’s best indie artists. This year’s ceremony was no exception, featuring performances by Ponctuation, The Strumbellas, Mounties, Born Ruffians, Live Artist winners Hollerado, The Hidden Cameras, and Little Dragon. With impressive performances by all acts we caught (we departed early for Adelaide Hall to catch Rock Artist of the Year Wildlife), it was a fun, danceable ending to a week of solid showcases. Our highlight: Hollerado, who broke out confetti canons and stage cardio to prove how deserving of their award they are!
