30 Days Of Music: Day 22

A Song You Listen To When Sad

Being a night owl, most of my thoughts come at nighttime.  I write into the wee hours, reflect on problems and decisions and cobble out solutions on scraps of paper and electronic notes.  At night, I am vulnerable.  The city is quiet, most people asleep.  The glow of the television or computer is my company, and while they can be great friends, they are lonely ones.

In the daylight hours, when the demands of bills and daily chores beckon, it is easy to run from the things we don’t want to deal with.  I’ve been known to clean the house at 2am to avoid my mind.  In the daylight, there is hope for reprieve.  But when the night comes…  the fight begins.
