Daniel Johns’ mental illness troubles should not have surprised anyone. How else can you explain a 15 year-old putting out a song as powerfully written as Tomorrow?
I always forget how much I enjoy Silverchair until I shuffle a song of theirs up on iTunes, and then promptly obsess over it. Their first disc, Frogstomp, was raw, unpolished talent, but it still shone with such great promise. It was hard to not find something to enjoy in their body of early work, and although Israel’s Son is another track I dig, this one remains one of their very best, and still relevant.
