I may have began migrating away from rap and hip hop in grade nine, but some artists still remained in the playlist.  House of Pain was one of them.

Oh sure, their rhymes were almost ridiculous, even when clever.  But their 1992 album Fine Malt Lyrics was also just a great fun album to blast while doing homework.  And really, you can’t go wrong as an angsty teen with a song that has the refrain, “Put on your shit kickers and kick some shit!”

The easy choice here would be staple track Jump Around, but I’m going to go with the Butch Vig remix I knew best of this other major single from the group.  Marvel at the madness.
