It’s really no secret how much I love Andrew McMahon and both of his bands, Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin. For the last two years, his words and melodies have been a staple part of my life’s soundtrack, and for the last two years, his songs have been my ‘anthems for the year’.
Although I think the Jack’s Mannequin albums are stronger overall, for the date of my fourth time seeing Mr. McMahon, I’m going to throw out one of my favourites from Something Corporate, a song I could easily see as part of the Jack’s Mannequin discography. This song breaks my heart with its honesty and relatability. It reminds me of so many emotional and vivid memories, tethered in a nearly incomprehensible cat’s cradle.
Day 169: Walking By – Something Corporate
