This has to be one of my top five songs of my childhood, and easily one of my top twenty of all time. Deceptively cheery in sound, as the 80s often were, the lyrics are all too accurate in terms of the evolution of the music industry and its turning away from true talent towards that which mesmerizes with pictures and light.
